      I am a biomedical engineer from Mexico working as a researcher in Cork, Ireland. I have always been curious about how things work and I am passionate about technological innovations. Big fan of football, Formula 1 (car racing), and anything that teaches me something new.

      I design and test circuits for devices that are placed inside the body (implantable devices). We deal with what is hidden behind what doctors and patients see as a reading on medical devices.

      So basically, everything can be translated into an electrical signal. From here, we design circuits to deal with them, in terms of size, power, and signal integrity. The interesting thing is that we have to take into account all the contributions related to the human body if we want to use them in implantable applications.

    • My Typical Day:

      Luckily, I live 5 minutes away from my workplace. I usually wake up around 8am and grab a quick bite to eat on my way to work. I spend the day doing a lot of simulations and calculations before a chip is manufactured. I work with people I consider my friends, so we have lunch together and the rest of the afternoon we talk about our designs and give advice on how to improve them.
